[...] In my opinion, as a seasoned bit builder, and keeping in line with Alan Cooper’s exhortations about software interfaces in his outstanding books The Inmates are Running the Asylum, the only reasonable solution is to improve the software! The space should, recognizing the importance of communication, give me the option of having my emails automatically forwarded to another space. There are other variations I can think of on this option, but I’ll leave those for the interaction designers of this world to decide. May their very small tribe increase so we can free the inmates from running the asylum! [for more details on this topic, see my blog] [...]

It's somewhat rare for students to enjoy their jobs in college. I know my first internship in college showed me that I didn't want to work in that industry.

Sometimes just working at the school cafeteria can be the perfect fit for a student. It beats filing papers all day in a cubicle, and you usually get some free food!

These comments capture why it was such a joy to serve as part of The Worthwhile Company while I lived in South Carolina.

Some of the most enduring, encouraging relationships I have right now were forged working side to side with those people on the Worthwhile Team! In fact, I can't imagine better preparation for the entrepreneur side of being a church planter than working in the web strategy side of Worthwhile. Thanks to Dan W, Jonathan P, and Dan R for taking a chance on me! Praying for the team, that you'll keep glorifying God by your excellence in the bit business.

Dan; I have been in sales all my life and your concept is wonderful. I believe, as do you, that your estimates are conservative, but the concept could be reprooduced productively to the East and West with solid AIG member support and direction. Run it up the church spire and see who salutes!!

Dan...

Hello. I've just freshly graduated from the University of South Alabama with an M.A. in Communication (emphasis on Marketing/PR/Advertising). What you are doing is great. And as a charter member of the Creation Museum, I'm going to spread the word.

If you need any further assistance in the area of Marketing and Research, I'd be more than happy to aid in this effort. This sounds like an exciting project that could also turn into an scholarly paper.

Kindest,
Beau

Work Summary 7

I began development on the plug-in again. This time with the specs correct. However, I periodically get requests for this plug-in from other people in the company, even though it's not ready. So I've been funneling these requests to another co-worker who it distributing an older, but stable version of this plug-in. We'll just have to update these clients after the new one is ready.

I was able to finish most of the development work, but I've been struggling with testing since that can only be done on my clients computer. Because of this I've started to use NUnit (a unit testing framework for .Net) and the results have been very satisfactory.

Hopefully this project will be completed by the end of the semester. I don't want to show up for work this summer and still have it looming over me.

Time last two weeks: 16.5
Total time: 127
